Nice Training Camps

March 5, 2015 @ 8:00 am - March 8, 2015 @ 5:00 pm

Event Navigation

With near year round riding in fantastic conditions on mythical Cols such as the Madone and Eze, there is a reason that so many pros choose to live and train in the Nice area ? join them on one of our incredible Cote d?Azur training camps in 2015

The combination of superb weather, challenging climbing and an eighty minute flight time from the UK, makes Nice the perfect option for those looking to schedule an early or late season tour either as a destination tour in its own right, or as a training camp used to prepare for one of our Grand Tour challenges.

If the below whets your appetite but you wish to personalise any aspect, then we are able to provide fully bespoke tour options for groups of 2+, with total flexibility on arrival and departure times, routes and riding, accommodation and guided/supported riding options.

Please get in touch via info@ledomestiquetours.co.uk and we will be very happy to put together the perfect package for you.

5-8 Mar 2015 ? 3 Night Training Camp ? ?549pp

5-8 March Training Camp

Clair Hotel in Nice?s beautiful port, in the heart of Nice, with easy access to the incredible riding that the camp will cover, without the overcrowding and noise found elsewhere in Nice.

Our base is located just minutes from the start of the Col d?Eze which affords easy access into the mountains of the Cote d?Azur.
Fully guided and support rides

Our training camps are built from the ground up with our professional coaching knowledge and experience of the challenges of our multi-day tours at their centre. Our camps are therefore hugely different from other ?camps? that are largely just a long-weekend of riding with no real forethought or planning. The entire structure of the camp is designed to improve both your knowledge (through the masterclasses and one-on-one discussion) and your on the bike performance, while also enjoying some of the world?s finest riding in and around Nice and the Cote d?Azur.

Centered around daily guided and supported rides (half day rides on the first and last day of camp, with full day rides on the second and third (on three night camps only)) that are tailored to the threshold performance improvement theme of the camp, as opposed to ?just riding?, our training camps are the number one way to improve your cycling performance on the stunning climbs of the Cote d?Azur. The daily rides will be based on the Cols that have made this area famous, with the Eze, Vence and Braus along with several others being covered during the course of the camp, along with the opportunity to complete your own timed ascent of the Col de la Madone, to compare yourself to Lance and Froome?s much discussed ascents.

With pro level support, navigation and coaching advice on hand from the Le Domestique Tours support van, spare kit, nutrition supplies and mechanical support will always be with you, allowing you to focus on the riding.

Each ride is fully gps supported, including optional additional loops to enable you to have a shorter or longer day in the saddle as desired. We use our experience and expertise to ensure that every rider is able to ride at his or her own level without feeling pressure from the rest of the group. You won?t be expected to ride yourself into a hole to keep up with a macho bunch of riders, but equally you will never feel held up by the steadier members of the group.

Across the week we will be running optional masterclasses that focus on the following key areas:

Descending ? our descending masterclass will help you develop your descending technique, resulting in a far more enjoyable, and above all safe, experience when the road heads down. Building on our vast experience of descending in the mountains we will be holding both theory and practical descending masterclasses.

Nutrition ? with the proliferation of energy products, it can be difficult to cut through the marketing nonsense and focus on the key facts. We?ll explain the important concepts in an easy to understand format, while debunking a few myths along the way. These classes are invaluable for building a nutrition plan that ensures your training pays off on your event day.

Building a training plan ? the benefits of following a training plan are huge, but very few riders understand how to build an effective plan based on their goals. We will give you all the tools you need to do so, enabling you to focus on getting the maximum benefit from your training time rather than wasting time on gimmick plans.

Multi-day events – for those riders using the camp as a training tool for one of our multi-day tours such as the Raid Pyrenean or King of the Mountains, we will discuss riding and recovery strategies to ensure you are in top form throughout these challenges. Nobody is better placed than us to deliver this advice.

The masterclasses either take part at our base or out on the roads and are all supported by our own masterclass notes, which are yours to take away at the end of the week, enabling you to continue improving long after the camp.
